Infrastructure Improvements

  • Historical marker were placed at various locations around the city
  • The Adopt a Trail program was launched
  • Demolition of the old Cache Valley Electric building next to I-15
  • Demolition of the old Chinese Buffet building by Harmons
  • Demolition of the MOWEDA building 
  • Installed new handicap fishing pier at the Roy Meadow Creek pond
  • Improvements to Municipal Park
  • Established new trail-head parking lot (32 stalls); bathroom, park bench, bike rack, water fountain, and bike service station 
  • George E. Wahlen North Park was dedicated
  • 95 new streetlights were installed on 1900 West 
  • Electronic Message board at Roy Municipal building
  • Re-established a modified dumpster clean up program
  • Flashing yellow lights at Denver Rio Grande trail on 6000 south
  • New Fire Truck and Ambulance
  • Replacing residential water meters with wireless reading technology
  • Completed the annexation of Weber County and Hooper properties

Policy Enhancements

  • A Business Advisory Board was created
  • Established RDA policy to help local businesses using revolving fund
  • Signed support agreements on Roy Innovation Center next to Aerospace Museum
  • Hired contractor to help with upgrading General Plan/ Form Based Code
  • Established two new Community Re-development Areas (CRA)
  • Updated Personal and Purchasing Policies
  • Updated some zoning policies
  • Established new Transportation Plan
